The Impact of Gambling on Youth
To determine the impact of gambling on youth, we conducted a survey. In this study, college students aged 18-24 completed a questionnaire and short survey on online gambling. This screening was embedded in the questionnaire to identify individuals who may be at risk for disordered gambling. These individuals were then recruited for focus groups. The recruitment process involved advertising in both universities and large classrooms. Once they were selected, participants completed the questionnaire and survey in a random order.
The laws governing online gambling vary by state. While some states permit online gambling, others do not. The risks vary according to state laws. It is always safe to consult a legal advisor before engaging in any gambling activity. Using a credit card, or cryptocurrency, increases your risk of being arrested or prosecuted. Furthermore, while there is no federal law governing online gambling, several state laws may limit your ability to gamble.
